The Pasha Group Announces Agreement to Acquire Horizon's Hawaii Business

The Pasha Group, a family-owned global logistics and transportation company, today announced an agreement to acquire the Hawaii trade-lane business of Horizon Lines, Inc., a Jones Act container shipping and integrated logistics company, for approximately $141.5 million. The transaction will greatly expand and complement Pasha’s current offerings for shipping between the mainland United States and Hawaii.

To our valued clients, colleagues and many friends, it is with deep regret that I must share with you the news that our Chairman, George W. Pasha, III, left us August 20, 2014 after a brief illness. In 1960, when he joined the company founded by my grandfather in 1947, he immediately put his entrepreneurial spirit into action, eventually creating the global transportation and logistics company that exists today as The Pasha Group.  The diversity and success of the company’s operations is the result of his vision, as is our reputation as a leader in our industry.

Pasha Hawaii Brings the Spirit of Orlando Back to California for World Record Rowers

On May 20, Guinness World Record Ocean Rowers, Angela Madsen (U.S.) and Tara Remington (New Zealand) set out from Long Beach, California, rowing the 19-foot Spirit of Orlando more than 2,500 miles to Honolulu, Hawaii. Today, Pasha Hawaii is bringing the rowboat back to California aboard the M/V Jean Anne.

“These two inspiring women rowed nonstop without a support boat for 60 days to the finish,” said George Pasha, IV, President and CEO. “We are honored to ship the boat back home for them.”
