Pasha Hawaii Continues Hurricane Relief Efforts Through Partnership with Puerto Rico Carriers

Honolulu, HI-based Pasha Hawaii has announced that it will continue the deployment of the U.S. Jones Act vessel Horizon Spirit in service of the Puerto Rico market to support hurricane relief and rebuilding efforts beyond the vessel’s initial voyage from the Port of Los Angeles to the Port of San Juan.

Honolulu, HI-based Pasha Hawaii has announced that it will be providing the U.S. Jones Act vessel Horizon Spirit to ship hundreds of containers from the West Coast in support of hurricane relief and rebuilding efforts in Puerto Rico. The Horizon Spirit serves as a drydock reserve ship in Pasha Hawaii’s container service between the mainland and Hawaii.

Honolulu, HI-based Pasha Hawaii has announced that two more ships will be joining its fleet which provides service to the Hawaii/Mainland trade lane. The two new Liquefied Natural Gas (“LNG”) fueled containerships will be built at Brownsville, TX-based Keppel AmFELS, a subsidiary of Keppel Offshore & Marine (“Keppel O&M”). The contracts were inked today.

Construction for the two vessels will begin immediately, with delivery of the first vessel expected in 1Q 2020, and the second vessel in 3Q 2020.

Contract specifications are expected to be finalized by the end of the month, with the final selection decision anticipated in January 2017.

The Chamber of Shipping of America (CSA) awarded the Jones F. Devlin Award to Pasha Hawaii's M/V Jean Anne for four years with no lost-time injuries (LTI).

The CSA also recognized Crowley Maritime Corp.’s global ship management group, which operates, crews, and maintains Pasha Hawaii's Jones Act containerships operating between the U.S. West Coast and Hawaii. The Horizon Pacific and Horizon Spirit vessels were recognized for operating without an LTI for two consecutive years.

An Apache helicopter took off from Pier 1 and headed for Wheeler Army Airfield in Wahiawa on Monday, one of 24 such Army aircraft that had arrived in the islands via Pasha Hawaii's Jean Anne on Friday.

The scene off Pier 1 in Honolulu Harbor Thursday morning was Ciao Italy --- Aloha Hawaii.

The VIP cargo arrived safe and sound this morning on a Pasha ship.

Two Ansaldo end rail cars (the prototype of the first driverless cars in the U.S. and the first with surf racks) were unloaded at the docks and met with big smiles.
